Transit Presentations

Being able to do the work is only half the job. The other half is explaining what you found. You must explain why it matters in a way that people actually understand and remember. I genuinely enjoy sharing my work with various audiences. These audiences include government officials, professional colleagues, advocates, and members of the public who just want to know what is going on with their transit system.
Twelve years of hosting my own radio show, Charlie Don’t Surf, on 89.9 WORT in Madison, Wisconsin, shaped my presentation skills early on. I learned how to speak clearly, keep people engaged, and think on my feet. That experience was reinforced during grad school for urban and regional planning at the University of Minnesota. Frequent presentations were part of the coursework.
This page includes three video examples of my work to give a sense of how I present today. These examples are from my work with the Baltimore Regional Transit Commission and local partners. Two examples are from the 2025 BRTC bi-monthly meetings. One example is from a January 2026 presentation to the Transit Choices advocacy group. Together, they show how I explain complex transit issues clearly to connect the details to bigger goals and keep the conversation moving.
